My watch and app isn’t showing any data

I’ve worn my watch for over a week now with the app downloaded and running to no luck. I’ve gone through similar questions on here and tried everything to no luck. All my data is showing on Apple Health but nothing in Bevel. I don’t understand what is so hard about this and if it is, why you don’t have an actual walk through tool where you can learn.

Hi Milly, Would you mind sending a screenshot of your Bevel home view? I completely understand your frustration, and I'd be happy to help and clarify things for you!
M
Milly
Randell thankyou! This is what I see when I open the app.
Randell
Milly: Got it! It looks like your Sleep data is present, so we can rule that out.
Can you go to Bevel -> Profile -> Customization -> Calculation and send me a screenshot of that view?

Randell
Milly: Thanks for the screenshots! I see that you are using the Bevel's default calculation setup. Next, I'd like to verify the data in Apple Health, Can you please kindly send a screenshot of the following for me?
- Apple Health -> Heart Rate -> Scroll down to "Show all data", tap it -> Tap on today's date, then screenshot a good chunk of Heart Rate raw data that falls within your sleep period.
- Apple Health -> HRV -> Scroll down to "Show all data", tap it, ->? Tap on today's date, then screenshot a good chunk of HRV raw data that falls within your sleep period data that falls within your sleep period.
The reason why I am asking this is to confirm if your Apple Watch did record your overnight vital readings.
I attached a screenshot of what it should look like.
M
Milly
Randell hmmm, it only seemed to record it for around the first hour of my sleep and then stop.
It didn’t seem to record my HRV at all given it had no heart rate to base it off.
Do you know why this could be?
I use a different app during the day to record heart rate, so don’t know much about apple health. Just to clear up, I do not use this app during the night. I only have Bevel running.
Randell
Milly: By any chance do you have your Apple Watch on low-power mode during your sleep? Or is your Apple Watch on low battery?
The only reason I can think of here why your Apple Watch did not read any vitals overnight it that it went to low-power mode.
M
Milly
Randell it says I don’t. I’ve checked as it’s come up on other ones I’ve read. And it’s charged right up until I go to sleep to ensure it has charge.
Randell
Milly: Hmm I see, can you please confirm the start and end time of your sleep?
Also, do you have Sleep schedule or do you turn on Sleep Focus mode before you sleep?
M
Milly
Randell I know I have sleep focus mode on and I’m pretty sure I have a sleep schedule. I just don’t have any alarms set as I don’t need them. Like I turn on in the bevel app when I lay down to go to sleep.
Randell
Milly: Gotcha, can you verify if this is the case on your previous days as well? Did it record any HRV and Heart Rate raw data during your sleep?
I suggest enabling AFib History at this point to make sure that your Apple Watch does more frequent readings of your vitals. Then try again tonight and see if this will work
M
Milly
Randell I can’t turn on Afib history as Apple health won’t let me as I’m under 22.
Last night it recorded my heart rate all night perfectly but nothing has come up in Bevel again.
I don’t want to waste my money on a premium subscription and for it to not work but I feel like that is the only way, because it says heart rate and hrv are locked and I need a premium subscription.
M
Milly
This is what it looks like and if I click on one of the locked metrics, it tells me I need premium.
Randell
Milly: Can you show me your 3 main metrics for today? (Strain, Recovery, Sleep).
M
Milly
Randell this is what I see when I open the app.
The second photo is me scrolling down further.
My watch has nothing either. Just the screen but nothing in recovery etc.
Randell
Milly: Do you wear your watch to sleep? Can you please go to Apple Health -> Sleep, scroll down to the bottom, tap "show all data" and screenshot the view for me?
M
Milly
Randell yes I do.
And here is the screenshot
M
Milly
I’ve had it on other nights but it didn’t track those nights? I might not have done it properly on the other nights.
Randell
Milly Can you go to Bevel -> Profile -> Data Sources -> Sleep, screenshot the view for me?
M
Milly
Randell all of my data sources are saying there is no source?!?
It literally said my Apple Watch was a source a few days ago for heart rate etc. I’m not sure if it said it for sleep though.
I also don’t know how to add sources.
Randell
Milly Try going to Apple Health -> Sharing -> Apps -> Bevel, turn Off and On all to retrigger the permissions. See if this will help
After that, force close the Bevel app first and open it again
M
Milly
Randell yay! It looked like it worked! I’m just not sure why I dont have any recovery score/information
Randell
Milly: regarding your Recovery score- I believe this is the same scenario as yesterday. If you can check in Apple Health the raw data for your Heart Rate and HRV again during your sleep period and see if your watch did log enough data?
Randell
- Apple Health -> Heart Rate -> Scroll down to "Show all data", tap it -> Tap on today's date, then screenshot a good chunk of Heart Rate raw data that falls within your sleep period.
- Apple Health -> HRV -> Scroll down to "Show all data", tap it, -> Tap on today's date, then screenshot a good chunk of HRV raw data that falls within your sleep period data that falls within your sleep period.
M
Milly
Randell it logged heaps of heart reset but looks like one or two heart rate variability. There was heaps more heart rate I just didn’t know how much you wanted.
Randell
Milly As an example, here is what my HRV during my sleep looks like. (See screenshot) My sleep period is from 6 AM to 11 AM.
As an alternative, can you please go to Bevel -> Profile -> Customization -> Calculation and change your settings to match the screenshot I attached? Let’s try this and see if it will work.
M
Milly
Randell I’ve done this.
Will the hrv still be accurate if we are using over entire day rather than sleep?
My Excersise Physiologist wanted me to use my sleep so we could get an idea of how everything was (sleep, energy level and hrv) in the morning so we could judge my day ahead.
Would I still have that information with it set to entire day.
And did you want me to try this for tonight and then get back to you?
Randell
Milly: Were you able to get the recovery score when you changed the calculation setup?
The issue is that your Apple Watch isn’t recording enough HRV data during your sleep. Since there’s no other alternative for this at the moment, I suggested changing your calculation setup as a workaround.
If you want to, you can change the HRV from Entire Day to Entire Sleep and see if that will work for you.
M
Milly
Randell this is what I woke up too this morning, it looks like it’s all working. The only issue now, is it’s not showing on my watch and only in the app?
Randell
Milly: For your watch, can you go to Bevel watch app -> Gear Icon -> ICloud/Baseline, check if both are synced to the latest?
M
Milly
Randell yes they are both synced to the latest
Randell
Milly: Can you try to tap "Resync Health"? Bevel watch app -> Gear Icon -> Resync Health, if this doesn't work then try to restart your Apple Watch
M
Milly
Randell unfortunately, I’ve done both and no luck
Randell
Milly Hm, can you please confirm which Apple Watch model is it that you are using? and the latest version of your WatchOS?
M
Milly
Randell I am using the Apple Watch SE and have watchOS 10.6.1
I am also stil not getting recovery scores when I check my phone in the morning after I wake up.
I’m honestly tempted to give up. I do not understand why this has been so difficult for me.
Randell
Milly: Hi Milly, since you're now using the Apple Health + Entire Day setup, your Recovery Score should update at any time today.
We switched to this setup because your Apple Watch isn't logging enough HRV data for you to use the rMSSD method.
Now that you mentioned you're using the Apple Watch SE on WatchOS 10.6.1, we've had a few users experience this issue due to the WatchOS version (Usually, tapping "resync health" should force the sync between your Phone and Watch but clearly that isn't the case for you).
Can you try unpairing and re-pairing your watch to see if this resolves the issue?
You can follow this link on how to. https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to-pair-and-unpair-apple-watch/
I understand your frustration over this, I am here to help you out to find a better solution with what you are experiencing.

Do I need to pay for premium to access hrv? Because on the app it says it’s locked and that I need premium to access it.
Randell
Milly: I see! If a metric is "locked," you'll need to subscribe to the premium version of the app to access it. Please check the attached screenshot for the premium perks you'll get with a subscription.
M
Milly
Randell but i thought HRV was with the free with the app? That is what is says but then I can’t seem to access it
