Hi Taylor Douglas, I'd like to follow up on this one. Were you able to get sleep stages from your Apple Watch today? Did it write the logs to Apple Health?

Hi Taylor Douglas, Can you please send a screenshot of your sleep data in Apple Health?
Please go to Apple Health -> Sleep -> Show all data. Screenshot this view for me.
Also, can you please clarify, are you trying to add another data source for your sleep? or you are only using an Apple Watch to track your sleep and it is not showing in Bevel as a data source?

I believe I only use Apple Watch to track sleep. How can I check to be sure?
Randell
Taylor Douglas: Looking at your screenshot it seems like you don't have any recent recorded sleep data from Apple Health.
Are you using your Apple Watch to track your sleep? Do you wear it when you sleep?
The last recent recorded sleep data from Apple Health was on September 13th.
T
Taylor Douglas
Randell - I started wearing it to sleep ever since I downloaded the Bevel app.
I’m not sure if the Apple Watch is tracking my sleep.
Randell
Taylor Douglas: Here's what it should look like when your Apple Watch tracks your sleep. Please see my screenshot below, you will notice the Apple Watch symbol beside the duration of Sleep stages.

Taylor Douglas
Randelli - I believe you lol. I’m just not sure why mine isn’t showing

Taylor Douglas Can you confirm if you have the following set up?
- Sleep Schedule, If you haven't yet please do so by following this guide: https://support.apple.com/en-lamr/108906#:~:text=Update%20your%20full%20schedule,Bedtime%20and%20Wake%20Up%20times.
- Check if both your Apple Watch and Phone are paired.
To check whether an Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone:
On your iPhone, in the Watch app: select the My Watch tab > check for any watches listed at the top of the page.
If there isn't any listed watch, you can tap "add watch" and follow the guide
- Please check if both your iCloud is logged in from Watch and Phone, you can check if they are on the same iCloud by going to Phone Settings -> Tap your name/profile -> Scroll down and you will see if your watch and phone is listed there.

Do I have to manually hit a button to begin tracking sleep?
Randell
Taylor Douglas: Thank for confirming.
No, you don't have to since you have your sleep schedule setup, it should automatically track your sleep.
Now, let's go ahead and check your Apple Health settings. Go to Apple Health -> Sleep -> Scroll down to "Data Sources & Access". Screenshot the view for me.

Taylor Douglas: I see, it seems like your Apple Watch is not in the list of Data Sources as it should be since you have used your Watch to track your sleep already.
Can you go back to "Track sleep with Apple Watch" settings in the phone Watch app and trigger it again by turning it Off and On?
Then try to track it again tonight. Please make sure that your watch is not on low-power mode and wear it comfortably tight.

I saw that you both have the same issue.

Randelli toggled off and back on.
T
Taylor Douglas
Randell would deleting and reinstalling the app help?
Randell
Taylor Douglas: I guess you can try, are you talking about the sleep app on your Apple Watch?
T
Taylor Douglas
Randell - I was talking about the Bevel app
Randell
Taylor Douglas: I believe the issue here is that your Apple Watch is not writing sleep data on your Apple Health, which is why we did some troubleshoot earlier and see if it will record a sleep for you tonight and your watch will be able to write it to Apple Health.
Please note that Bevel only reads what is in your Apple Health in terms of sleep data so if there's no data in Apple Health then Bevel won't be able to pull in any data.
T
Taylor Douglas
Randell okay thanks.

Taylor Douglas: Once your Apple Watch records your sleep tonight and writes the data to Apple Health, the sleep data sources in Bevel will add your Apple Watch as a source automatically, and this will give you your sleep score for the day.
For now, lets see if your Apple Watch will record and write your sleep data to Apple Health, you can update here tomorrow.

Hi Jeff Pease Thanks for the update! Glad it is working now. Let me close this ticket for you

This worked. Thank you.

Interesting, so Sleep Cycle is messing things up. I am wearing the Apple Watch while I sleep. I'll use the Sleep app in Apple Watch tonight and see if that fixes the problem. Thank you.
Randell
Jeff Pease: Got it. Please keep me updated. Also, make sure to double-check your Sleep schedule in the Apple Health app. You can follow this link below:
Also, here's a screenshot showing what your Sleep data should look like to confirm whether your Apple Watch successfully tracked your sleep.

Here you go
Randell
Jeff Pease: Thanks for the screenshot.
It looks like you don't have any sleep stages (REM, DEEP, etc.) logged in your Apple Health data, which is why Bevel isn't able to pull in any.
Also, the reason why your Apple Watch is missing from Bevel's data sources is because there's no data from your Apple Health coming in from your Watch.
Are you planning to use Sleep Cycle to track your sleep? It seems like Sleep Cycle doesn't write Sleep Stages looking at your data.
I'd suggest that you setup your Apple Watch as your main sleep tracker. Are you wearing your watch to sleep?
