This is the concept. Macro factor has implemented it. I personally think it is an excellent feature.

Active calories Apple Watch vs Woop
Tomek Gniewko Bielak
Can we please find some sort of way to adjust the calories burned per workout, I am actively tracking everything with both woop and bevel.
If I listen to woop I can reach my goals to loose weight slightly per week and maintain also works
If I try to maintain weight listening to bevel (apple watch calucluation) then I put on weight slowly. And when I want to cut I maintain. It seems like it’s only slightly off.
Usually my workouts in woop show calories burned at around 200 calories and Apple Watch/bevel 400 or 500. It’s usually double or more than double.
Everything from bevel is here for foundations for me to be happy with the app, but I am not able to use it to implement succesfull plans due to the whole nutrition net calories section being wrong.

Calorie and weight trends
Benjamin Thiers
I noticed that some calorie trackers, especially my Apple Watch, tended to overestimate the number of calories burned. For example, if today my watch estimates that I consumed 2500 total kcal and that I therefore eat 2500 kcal, I noticed that I had a tendency to gain weight and that this data was overestimated. I think that an AI feature that analyzes the user's weight trends based on calories spent and consumed would be great!
For example, a message could appear: You seem to be gaining weight despite your energy balance being negative or close to maintenance, your tracker seems to overestimate your expenditure, if you want to continue losing weight increase your deficit... in the same way for people looking to gain weight, it would be a tool to know your true energy expenditure.

Add more algorithms/calculation methods for calculating daily caloric burn.

One reason I like the whoop is because whoop IMO is better at calculating my daily caloric burn than apple watch. The apple watch ALWAYS overestimates this. Is there a way to add other calculation methods? I don't think rn it's very accurate.

Readjust burned calories calculated by Apple Watch

I like the Net Energy widget, but with the Apple Watch over estimating burned calories it is not that relieable. It would be cool to adjust the calories burned using some database (considering: exercise minutes, intensity, herath data, height, weight, gender, historical weight changes to calculated net calories, etc.) so it would be more accurate. Cheers

Add basal metabolic rate
Max
In the current version of the nutrition tracker, is my basic metabolic rate already calculated in? If not, wouldn’t that be quite logical regarding the overview of my intake?
Amanda
Hi Benjamin Thiers, that's a great remark and we'll need to think more about it because of the many factors related to energy expenditure and weight loss/gain. In addition, it depends heavily on the regularity and accuracy of nutritional monitoring and user training, but I agree that it would be very useful!

Hi Anonymous, Bevel pulls in Apple's energy expenditure, which is calculated using BMR based on age/height/weight/gender. Is there something in particular with Macrofactor that you are finding to be more useful?

Amanda Oh yes, I can speak to this.
I don’t think it’s controversial to say that apple healths MBR statistics are wildly inaccurate.
MacroFactor uses weight trend and calorie counting data to estimate calories out. This is handy because it’s far more personalised ie apple says my BMR is 3000 when in reality it’s much closer to ~2400.
So, if I were to further expand I would say that the improvement lies within the algorithm change.
