Bevel won’t update on new iPhone 16
under review
John Fernandez
I recently purchased an iphone16 and updated to recent software. At the same time I updated the software to my ultra Apple Watch. Bevel is perfectly fine on my phone. However, my ultra gives different values on the complications. I’ve restarted, reinstalled ( on both) . Reset both devices and still it does not match the iPhone. In addition the Apple Watch “battery” complication does not update on the watch. It states to open up the app on the phone to update. But that does not work. Please help.

I have the same issue when I upgraded from 15 pro to 16 pro, I lost all the history and noting synched with iCloud. I restarted my phone couple of time and my watch still have the same issue
Randell
Moe: Hi, iCloud sync can take some time, potentially a day or even up to a week. How long have you been experiencing this issue?
Also, as mentioned below, Have you checked if your iCloud is synced on both your Watch and Phone?
- You can go to the Bevel Watch app -> Tap on the Gear Icon -> iCloud. See if this is synced to latest?
Check the Baseline in the Bevel Watch app for me as well while you're at it.
- On Bevel Phone app, you can check this by going to Bevel -> Profile -> iCloud

Randell hi thank you for your help. I am experiencing this issue since 3 days when I switched to 16 pro.
- On Bevel Watch the last synced today. But nothing is showing in the baseline last sync time.
- Bevel App phone the last iCloud sync is today as well same date and time as the watch.
Randell
Moe For the Baseline, can you try opening both Bevel watch app and the Bevel phone app side by side and see if it syncs to the latest?
Also, just to confirm, is your new Phone and Watch paired already?
M
Moe
Randell yes it’s already paired, I tried opening both but didn’t sync. Should I try and sign out from Bevel phone app and login again?
Randell
Moe Yes, you can try that. If possible could you send me a screenshot of what the baseline looks like on your Bevel watch app?
Please keep me posted on this.
M
Moe
Randell signing out didn’t help. I have attached a screen shot from the watch baseline. Also I noticed the data source in the phone app is empty it used to have something in it. I have checked the Health app if ever is turned on for Bevel I only see Nutrition not sure if this the only thing that should be there.
Randell
Moe Hi, if you go to your Watch App on iPhone, tap “All Watches” do you see your Apple Watch paired with your new Phone?
Also on your permissions, it should look like the screenshot I attached below, not just Nutrition. You can go to Apple Health -> Sharing -> Apps -> Bevel.
M
Moe
Randell Hi, the Apple watch is paired with my phone, but the permissions in the Apple Health are not showing I. An only see the Nutrition I think this is where the problem is. Should I delete the app and reinstall it again?
Randell
Moe: Hi, yes. You can try that. Be sure to enable permissions if the app asks you again for it. Let me know if this fixes it for you
M
Moe
Randell I deleted and reinstalled the app everything is working great now :)
Randell
Moe: I see. Thanks for confirming!

Moe
Randell Thank you for your kind help and support.

Donatien
Not sure if it’s related, but I use both an iPhone XS and an iPhone 16 Pro that I just bought, and I noticed that the journal entries in Bevel do not synchronize between the two devices, even though they’re both connected and syncing via iCloud.
Randell
Donatien: Hi Donatien, for this issue- have you tried pulling down to refresh on your Bevel Journal tab view and see if it syncs?
D
Donatien
Randell Yes, tried it, even tried to erase the cache, but the issue persists.
Randell
Donatien: Hi Donatien, Is this still an issue for you? This could take a day or so for the Journal to sync. Can you please keep me posted on this?
D
Donatien
Randell Yeah, it’s been going on for more that 10 days now.
Randell
Donatien I see. Just to confirm, you have enough storage on your iCloud right? And this is synced with your previous phone?
D
Donatien
Randell Double yes.
Randell
Donatien Gotcha. Can you try to reinstall the app and see if it fixes the issue?
D
Donatien
Randell On the device that doesn’t sync?
Randell
Donatien Yes, the one that you're having sync issues with the journal logs/entries right now and you intend to use?
Randell
Hi Donatien, Following up on this, is this all good after reinstalling the app?
Benji
I have this same issue, except I have just gotten bevel after purchasing the iPhone 16. The complication values will not change from the showcase values or the default values.
Grey
Benji: Can you try restarting your watch and then open the watch app again?
Benji
Grey Just did. Nothing. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the watch app.
Grey Nguyen
Benji what series watch do you have? And do other complications work fine?
Benji
Grey Nguyen I have the 8. None of the complications are correct.
Randell
Benji: Hi Benji, I'd like to follow up on this.
Have you checked if your iCloud is synced on both your Watch and Phone? You can go to the Bevel Watch app -> Tap on the Gear Icon -> iCloud. See if this is synced to latest?
On Bevel Phone app, you can check this by going to Bevel -> Profile -> iCloud
Check the Baseline in the Bevel Watch app for me as well while you're at it.

Grey
John Fernandez can you try restarting your watch and phone? Make sure your old phone is turned off.
Then can you try restarting the Bevel app on the phone and watch?
John Fernandez
Grey yes. I just did again. Same result.
Grey
John Fernandez: Is your watch still linked to your old phone somehow?
Can you share screenshots of what you're seeing on both the phone and the watch?
John Fernandez
Grey , I traded in my old phone and it was wiped . It was working fine until I updated my watch yesterday. On the phone it seems right on just now have different values on the complications since the update last night.
Grey
John Fernandez: Thanks. Can you go to your watch app, then open Bevel on the phone > Pull to refresh on the phone (leaving both on at the same time).
Now back to your watch app > Tap the settings icon on the top left > Baseline sync > screenshot this view for me?
John Fernandez
Grey, interesting. When I pulled to refresh, the Apple Watch changed the complication values to match the phone. But 3 seconds later the watch complication refreshed itself and changed back to non matching original values. Weird.
John Fernandez
The energy bank is still greyed out on the apple watch complication
John Fernandez
All my other health apps are working and syncing. Any updates going forward? I really do like your app just hope the connection to the Apple Watch gets resolved soon.
Grey
John Fernandez: Thanks for the information John. So it seems like the values were set correctly and then revert back after a while, is that correct?
Can you try clearing the cache on the iOS app and then reinstalling the app on both the watchOS and iOS app?
Sorry for this experience. This is the only case we've heard of so far and we cannot reproduce it on our end so I appreciate your patience with this.
John Fernandez
Grey that is correct . When I pull down on the phone app to refresh it updates the values in the watch for like 3 seconds then it reverts to different numbers. I cleared the cache and deleted then re installed on both devices. Same thing happens.
Grey Nguyen
John Fernandez thanks, have you signed into to iCloud for your watch?
John Fernandez
Grey Nguyen thank you! That seemed to work! I was not connected to the iCloud on the watch. Maybe the new update to the watch turned it off? Anyway, now it seems to be matching my phone.
