Automate Morning Sunlight Tag

Do you think is possible to automate the Morning Sunlight tag?
My thoughts are coming from the suggestions around circadian rhythm: “The key is to view morning sunlight for 5 to 10 minutes on clear days, and 10 to 20 minutes on overcast days. Those are minimums. More is better if you have time and access. Especially in winter,” Andrew Huberman suggests.
We could get the time of the day that the health app recognise that we are getting daylight and compare it to the time the user wakes up, and use the Maximum Light Intensity lux to understand if is a clear day or is overcast.

Hi! I wanted to share a bit of feedback regarding the sunlight tracking feature.
For those of us who wake up very early (around 5–6 AM), especially during Daylight Saving Time when the sun hasn’t risen yet, it can be difficult to meet the current threshold. This means we’re often missing out despite maintaining a consistent routine. I was wondering if it might be possible to make this more flexible—perhaps by measuring sunlight exposure within the first few hours after waking (e.g., within 3 hours), rather than at a fixed time.
In my case, I typically spend the first 1–1.5 hours at the gym, and even by the time I get to the office, it can still be dark. I do get sunlight before 8 AM, but it doesn’t always seem to count toward the goal.
Additionally, I noticed that sunlight tracking currently relies on the Apple Watch. For users who don’t have an Apple Watch but do use devices like the Oura Ring, would it be possible to allow sunlight tracking through the phone instead?
Thanks so much for considering this—really appreciate the work you’re doing!

That's coming in the next update :)
EDIT: it won't include the sky luminosity, but it will track the amount of sunlight immediately after waking up.

Grey brilliant minds think alike 😁 amazing 👏

Grey how does this work? It’s saying it’s strongly negative for my health but that seems contrary what I’ve read. It also feels like it’s wrong - I haven’t gotten morning sunlight but it says I have

Grey what does it mean “immedately”? What is the time span after waking up which counted as morning sunlight? I mean what if I go out 20 minutes after I woke up? Is it counted as morning sunlight or not?

Jonathan: This uses the "Time in Daylight" value in your Apple Health. By default, the Apple Watch will estimate when you're in daylight and will write this value automatically. We've noticed that sometimes it can be inaccurate for a number of reasons.
I believe there might be other smart devices that write this data. If you think it's inaccurate for your use case, I would recommend turning this off in your Journal settings.

Richard Koczur: If you have at least 20 mins of sunlight within 1 hour of waking up, this will be marked as checked automatically.

Grey so 1 hour. Thanks :)
