Hi team, I’m back after a while off sick!
It’s been a year since I last used Bevel and I’m thrilled to see the significant progress you’ve made.
My first request for 2026 is to create an easy-to-understand feature that explains how food, particularly the time difference between my last meal and bedtime, impacts recovery and sleep. The goal is to identify the optimal time to stop eating for improved sleep.
In my option this task is a “easier said than done” for a few reasons:
  • Many users don’t like logging food daily or at all, so it should be an option for manual input. However, it should automatically calculate the time difference if food is logged and override it if food is logged but the last meal wasn’t recorded.
  • Determining the “last meal” can be tricky if this is a single insight. For example, if a user has dinner four hours before bed and a snack right before sleep, they could log either the snack or the dinner. However, this would provide a less valuable insight because a small low-calorie snack might not be as detrimental, leading to the misconception that the body can handle food before sleep.
I believe it’s important to differentiate between the effects of a light bite and a heavy dinner on sleep and present them as two separate insights.
This feature should be thoroughly considered because it could serve as a foundation for other functionalities, such as workout timing. For instance, it could determine the optimal time to finish exercise based on whether it’s aerobic or anaerobic, effort etc.
Thank you so much!
