Sync data from Hume Bodypod scales or Hume Plus app.

It has a lot of metrics that could be imported into bevel. It syncs to apple health. But the data isn’t picked up by bevel app.

Calculate missing lean body mass and write it to Apple Health

It would be useful to add a feature to automatically calculate missing lean body mass from body fat and total weight and write it to Apple Health so that Bevel app can use the calculated lean body mass.
Certain body composition scales (e.g. Hume Body Pod) do not properly write lean body mass to Apple Health, but they do properly write body fat and total weight to Apple Health, and that info can be used to estimate missing lean body mass and write it to Apple Health so that Bevel app can use it.
Bevel AI already demonstrated that it has enough information to do the calculation:
It looks like we don't have any Lean Body Mass data for the last 30 days. To help you track your progress and provide insights, we need some measurements. Let's get that first reading in!
calculate lean body mass from body fat and total weight
Okay, I can calculate that for you!
Based on your current data:
* Your Body Weight is
172.7 lbs
* Your Body Fat Percentage is
44.2%
Your Lean Body Mass is approximately
96.4 lbs
.Thanks.

Good morning,
The ability to put your measurements would be a way to have all your information in the same places.
Have a nice day!

I would like to see the high body fat range change from obesity to high or very high. While obesity is associated with high body fat, BMI is a better indicator for obesity. I for example use a smart scale which is known to be potentially inaccurate for body fat. I am considered obese due to my high body fat reading however my BMI is not in the obese category. For reference I’m 5’10 190 pounds and I am a male.

Request: Expanded HealthKit Body Composition Metrics (Visceral Fat, Segmental Muscle, Hydration, etc.)
Chris Johnson
Hi Bevel team & community,
As more of us adopt smart body scanning scales and similar devices, the data they provide is far richer than what HealthKit currently allows apps to store. Right now, Apple Health supports only a handful of body composition metrics (Weight, BMI, Body Fat %, Lean Mass, Waist Circumference, Height).
But modern scales can deliver dozens of clinically relevant metrics:
• Visceral fat % / rating
• Skeletal muscle mass
• Segmental muscle/fat (arms, legs, trunk)
• Bone mass
• Total body water % / hydration
• Muscle-to-fat ratio
• Metabolic age
• Basal metabolic rate (BMR)
• Phase angle (bioelectrical impedance)
Unfortunately, these don’t have first-class fields in HealthKit today — meaning apps like Bevel (and others in the ecosystem) can’t write them in a standardized way.
⸻
Why This Matters for Bevel:
• Better sync & storage: Users who rely on Bevel as their hub could see the full picture of their body composition, not just weight + fat %.
• Cross-app compatibility: Other apps reading from HealthKit would also get access to the richer data.
• Future-proofing: As body scanners and smart scales evolve, Bevel will be positioned as a leader in full-health data integration.
⸻
What We Can Do:
I’ve already submitted a developer feature request to Apple asking them to expand HealthKit’s supported metrics:
Apple Developer Forums thread here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/802918
If you’re interested in seeing Bevel support these advanced metrics, I’d encourage you to:
1. Upvote/comment on that Apple Developer Forums post so Apple sees there’s wide demand.
2. Add your voice here in Bevel’s feedback forums, so the Bevel team knows it’s a priority for us.
⸻
Summary: Adding these HealthKit metrics would let Bevel take advantage of the new wave of body scanning tech and give users a truly complete health dashboard.

It would be a nice addition to be able to fill in measurements of different parts of the body. Such as the arms, legs, chest, stomach, etc.
