It would be extremely useful to have support for tracking biphasic sleep patterns (sleeping in two main intervals during the night, separated by a period of wakefulness, usually 1–3 hours). Many people, including myself, naturally sleep in this pattern, sometimes called “segmented sleep” or “two-interval sleep.”
Currently, Apple Watch already combines both sleep intervals into a single night’s sleep. However, in Bevel, my sleep quality is only calculated based on the first phase, and the second phase is regarded as a nap. This underestimates my total sleep time and skews sleep
quality metrics.
