Request for Caffeine Timing Feature
Urvaksh Avanthsa
Hey Bevel Health Team,
I love using the Bevel App and appreciate the insights it provides! I was wondering if you’ve considered incorporating a caffeine timing feature that suggests when to start and stop caffeine based on individual sleep and recovery data.
I think it could be really helpful for optimizing energy levels while supporting better sleep. Would love to know if something like this is on your radar!
Thanks!
Amanda
Thank you for the suggestion Urvaksh Avanthsa! Currently, you can see the effects of caffeine in journal insights, but not on a micro level (timing, amount) as this requires much more data and granularity. This is something we can consider for future!

Advanced Habit Analytics
Tyler Padniewski
From my perspective, while the app already allows for precise logging of consumables like water (in milliliters) and caffeine (in milligrams), what’s missing is an in-depth analysis of how these inputs affect overall health metrics. I’d propose introducing an advanced analytics feature that correlates these logged values with key indicators such as recovery scores, sleep quality, stress levels, and energy trends. This would help users understand, for example, if a higher caffeine intake on certain days correlates with poorer sleep or if increased water consumption improves recovery metrics. Such insights could empower users to fine-tune their habits and optimize their performance and well-being.

Hi Tyler Padniewski, great suggestion. This is something we're actively working on. Stay tuned :)

Auto. add for macronutrients

May auto. add macronutrients (like caffein or magnesium) to see how protein, carbs and fat impact recovery, sleep and strain.

I recently switched from ~400mg Caffeine to 6mg per day. This has had a noticeable impact on my sleep quality.
For the insights report, I'm thinking something like "More than ~6mg Caffeine: -25% impact on Sleep" might be beneficial here.

more granularity on the impact of caffeine and water intake

currently water and caffeine fields in the journal have a threshold to determine a yes or no binary toggle, i feel like both of these metrics would be much more useful if they were more granular and could take into account the amount of caffeine or water.
for example if i have a day where i have only 1 cup of coffee and another day where i have 4 cups of coffee it seems to register both as having the same impact to my sleep and recovery scores because they both hit the threshold for caffeine=yes. if it was more granular i could also see how much caffeine starts to affect my sleep so i can find comfortable maximum. the inverse could go for water intake as well because i could more effectively find my minimum water intake before i start not recovering well etc etc.
inspiration for this comes alot from HiCoffee and HiWater both by Gong Zhang

Thanks Zac Garbos for the feedback. We have planned on our roadmap to improve numeric correlations for Journal tags. I'll merge it with an existing ticket.

Make Nutritional Journal Insights Non-Binary
N
Nik
At the moment nutritional journal insights (caffeine, water, alcohol) are binary (based on if I did or didn’t have any caffeine for example). However, it would be much more useful if the insights were able to utalise the amount and time that these entries were logged (if that data is available).
I really have days where I have no caffeine, but the amount of caffeine I have varies. Seeing the impact of this would be great, rather than did or didn’t I have caffeine.
Thanks!
