kCal instead of kJ

kCal and Calories hardcode in app design. This has been raised by multiple users and brushed off.
It's very inconvenient for non-US users. Hope this can be raised with the POs and added to the roadmap as priority.

Agree. The customisation setting to change Energy from kCal to kJ seems to have no effect, at least in the Nutrition section. I’m forced to constantly calculate from kJ to kcal or visa-versa to make sure I have the right numbers. All of our food nutrition labels are in kJ.
It slows down the whole process of logging food which is already multiple clicks/taps (too many IMO). The more friction that app has the less likely continuation of input. If you miss one entry because of time it’s easy to suddenly give up completely; human nature. This is bad for the user and then bad for the product as a whole.

Kj for nutrition tracking

I’m aware that the app supports changing to the kj units, however, it doesn’t change the nutritional info. This is a major disappointment for me and many others who live in places we kj are used.

For the food logs in the nutrition tab to be displayed as ‘kJ’

It would help many people if the food we logged can be displayed at ‘kJ’ instead of ‘kcal’. This still happens after I customised my measurements to be displayed as metric in the settings.

Do we have an update on this?
Surely can’t be too difficult to change metrics.
Most of Australia’s items display kj

I just wanted to add, as it seems this has been partially implemented, selecting Kilojoules in Unit of Measurement doesn’t seem to work. Everything stays as Kcal.

Thanks for the suggestion, Joe. We can add this to the roadmap!
