Dietary Customizations (vegan, vegetarian, etc.)
planned (tbd)
Chris
As someone with a dietary restriction who will never eat meat, it's very frustrating to have to customize the food each time I snap a pic in Bevel. It'd be really great to be able to select a dietary customization and the AI automatically select an alternative for me.
For example, I snap a pic of what appears to be a burger, and the AI automatically selects vegan meat like impossible meat and vegan cheese. Or I snap a pic of what appears to be a regular pizza, and it automatically selects vegan mozarella, etc.
The nutritional values for a regular hamburger versus a vegan hamburger alternative are different, so it would be helpful to capture these correctly in the app.

Will the points system for nutrition be updated to fit the new govt guidelines on healthy food (red meat not being bad etc) I follow an animal based diet and consistently get bad/ fair ratings for my food even though it’s whole food zero processed and zero sugar.
Maybe add moderation selection for a style of diet you are following (keto, carnivore, animal based, Mediterranean etc) that the nutrition score then follows

Please consider adding a FODMAP tracking/filter feature. Being able to flag foods as high- or low-FODMAP and see potential digestive impact would be extremely helpful for users managing gut health, bloating, or IBS.

Suggestion for Context-Aware Nutrition Scoring
L
Luis Lopes
I would like to share a suggestion regarding your nutrition scoring system.
At the moment, food scores appear to be based on a “general healthy user” model. While this works for a large audience, it can lead to inaccurate or even counterproductive evaluations for users with specific clinical conditions, such as chronic kidney disease.
In my case, certain foods may be penalized due to protein or micronutrient content, despite being appropriate within my individual limits, while other foods that score well for the general population may not be ideal for my clinical profile.
A potential evolution could be the introduction of context-aware nutritional profiles, where food scoring adjusts based on the user’s selected health context (e.g., CKD, diabetes, hypertension, performance-focused training), without entering the realm of medical diagnosis — simply by contextualizing nutritional thresholds and weighting.
This approach would improve accuracy, reduce false positives/negatives in scoring, and represent a strong differentiator for users focused on long-term health and longevity.

You really need to accommodate different diets.

Your food score is based on a plat based diet. I am a carnivore and truly believe meat is the healthiest food in the world. You’re penalising meat eaters when actually the vegetarians and vegans are less healthy. Humans are not designed to have a plat based diet. We can cope as omnivores but we are anatomically carnivores and you can’t argue with the science.

Nutrition evaluated by alternative diets

It seems the nutrition scoring is quite simple and based on a traditional high carb diet. It would be great to see integration of a low carb diet such as carnivore or keto diet. This would make it significantly more meaningful for people like myself.

Integration of the diet in the App

It would be very useful to be able to integrate a personalized diet prepared by a specialized dietician, connecting it to a quick and intuitive system to enter daily the foods consumed and the relative quantities
