Improve Calorie Tracking more like MacroFactor

The nutrition tracking in Bevel has potential, but at the moment it is noticeably less precise and less goal-oriented than solutions like MacroFactor. For users who take their goals seriously, the current implementation lacks depth, accuracy, and true personalization.
Specifically, I would suggest the following improvements:
- Dynamic calorie targets with weekly check-ins
MacroFactor sets the benchmark here. Calorie targets are automatically adjusted based on bodyweight trends, actual progress, and the user’s selected goal. This feedback loop is essential. A static calorie target without regular recalibration is ineffective over time.
Weekly check-ins that evaluate weight changes and update calorie recommendations would significantly improve Bevel.
- More accurate food recognition from photos
The current AI does not reliably detect all ingredients. In my example, sugar was not recognized even though it was part of the dish. While this may seem minor, these inaccuracies accumulate over time and distort the data.
MacroFactor is clearly more accurate and transparent in ingredient and macro breakdowns.
- Strongly consider benchmarking against proven solutions
I highly recommend that your team spend time using MacroFactor in depth. It has been my gold standard for many months in terms of accuracy, intuitiveness, and goal execution. Adopting similar principles would greatly strengthen Bevel’s nutrition features.
