Improve Onboarding to Bevel

You are missing a big group of people who still doesn’t know how to make sense of the metrics.
Your UX is much better than something like Athlytic but to an average person you are still fuzzy with your value prop.
A short onbording video on what different metrics means would greatly improve adoption as users only understand the high level and miss the context. I am a tech product marketer and literally gave up on the app, until I painfully took half an hour to actually understand and get wow’ed by Bevel.
It should not be that hard.

When adding a new recipe, you are first prompted to scan or describe an item. I would have expected this to open the new recipe page that currently only shows after I select the item. It's also unexpected that after adding an item, I can add more ingredients under it, suddenly creating a recipe. While this is neat, it's hard to follow the logic. All of this could benefit from an onboarding guide that would make it clearer why it was design this way and how to make the best use of it. Preferably, the tutorial is optional for users within the app so those who know how to use it can skip the tutorial, as well as a video tutorial that can be accessed outside of the app on a bigger display and can be used to promote this feature widely.

Onboarding

I bet that a lot of people, even including myself a few months ago, I had a bit of a tough time setting up everything inside Bevel. There was just too much. The onboarding could have you setup things like Journal, track calories, etc. It could guide you through the app, so the user isn't so confused.

Pro version?

I like the app and might like the pro version more. But the descriptions of it and its features that I found are ambiguous and vague. Can you do a better job of describing the added metrics and features. “Advanced health metrics” means nothing to me and probably to everyone else. Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion Vikram Sumer Singh. With all the new features and metrics in app now, we recognize that it may be overwhelming to learn and navigate the app. We have plans to make this much clearer for new users.

Thanks for the suggestion Simon Rejzek! This is something we can definitely work on.

This is a good idea pixel. We can make the operation clearer. Thank you for the feedback!
