sync heart rate settings

abby I
I use my ipad constantly at the gym but iphone on the day-day. the data is so often inconsistent but unfortunately that’s mostly the fault of apple health being very slow with syncing, and the fact that bevel doesn’t sync device to device but just syncs with apple health. however when i first started using bevel on the ipad i thought something was wrong because strain, sleep, cardio scores were all so far from what my iphone displayed - only to later on realize it was because the heart rate zone calculation was set to the default (max hr) and not the rhr method (which is much more accurate since i have a relatively high rhr)
Randell
Hi abby I, Thanks for sharing this. Can you please share a screenshot of what the HR zone looks like on your iPad and Bevel phone app too?
Go to Bevel -> Profile -> Customization -> Heart Rate Zone, screenshot the view for me.

Randell hey! i already fixed this by going into that page and manually setting it to match (hrr and set the same max hr) - I am just suggesting that it syncs by default & if it doesn’t then the user gets some sort of warning that there is a mismatch. For eg now if i go change what my max hr is on my iphone (as i just noticed its lower than what my most recent testing say it is) i have to also go edit it on ipad, it doesn’t sync.
Randell
abby II I see. You are using the same Apple account, right?
Randell
abby I: I'd like to follow up on this please. as per my last question - did you use the same Apple Account or Email when logging in on both devices?
a
abby I
Randellhey! yes it’s the same account - i can confirm other things are synced (i can see a workout template i made on my iphone is there on my ipad, journal entry made on my ipad (phone in bed) is there on my iphone!)
Randell
abby I: Thanks for confirming. I've merged your ticket to the iPad version support of the app as an additional edge case for the team to consider

iPad app, please!

I am confident you’ve gotten this request a thousand other times, but an iPad app would be awesome. I realize the data would almost certainly still have to sync through the phone, but think of all the data the larger iPad screen could show! That is a real missed opportunity! You could work in some beautiful graphs and charts, and if the strength training data issue I mentioned previously (regarding duplication) is corrected, I will absolutely start using Bevel to track those details and the iPad screen would be fantastic for displaying all of that. If the specific device syncing is a concern, you can always just add a note/disclaimer to the iPad app that the user must sync everything on their phone first before they can see it updated on the iPad. Thanks.

Will be good to have an iPad/ Mac app

While the iPhone app is really useful, it might be cool to see charts and trends in a bigger form factor. I dont expect iPad/ Mac to have any direct integration with devices or Apple Health, but can mirror the information Bevel already knows about me in a bigger chart. Of course, if I can make food entries through Mac, it will be nice also.

This is almost two years old, Athlytic has an iPad app, so does apple health. If you are going to charge me more than Athlytic I want an iPad app.

It would be nice to have the Bevel iPad version

I also want this. One of the reasons I looked at competitors after using Bevel was desktop/web support. Ultimately I went with Bevel because nutrition/CGM tracking for the price was a better value, but this is one of the things that is really important to me. In a perfect world, I would
love
to see Bevel turned into a Universal app that runs on Mac, iPadOS, and iOS. Web would also be fantastic, but I know that's a pipe-dream.For what it's worth, another wellness app I use side-by-side with Bevel pulls in HealthKit data as well, but only allows it to come from the original device (in my case, my iPhone that is connected to my Watch). The app is totally usable from any other device or via web, but it won't try to sync with HealthKit unless it's on that particular device.

iPad and iPhone energy bank scores are entirely different and not syncing
A
Alex J
No consistency between devices, having reset, resynced and refreshed everything. iPhone appears to be correct and displaying energy bank scores of 71%, for example. iPad is reporting 1% energy score and saying the data is fresh. All other iPad data fields also don’t match iPhone values.
Randell
Hi Alex J, Have you tried clearing the cache for this? Bevel -> Profile, scroll down to the bottom. The Energy Bank refresh should be in Bevel -> Energy Bank -> Upper right corner, reload data.
Also, the app is not intended to be used on the iPad yet. The iPad version will be supported at a later date, here is the planned ticket for it: https://feedback.bevel.health/feature-requests/p/ipad-version

Randell thanks! Yes, I cleared the cache and forced a refresh to no success.
Good to know about the ipad update, thank you. It'd be great to see ipad functionality given how some folks might string together their different training/health apps.
