Food Intolerance Detection and Analysis
T S
I propose adding an intelligent food intolerance detection feature to Bevel. This functionality would analyze patterns between food intake and symptoms such as stomach cramps, diarrhea, bloating, fatigue, and others, to help users identify potential food intolerances or sensitivities.
Details:
- Integration with Food Tracking Apps: By linking Bevel with food-tracking apps, users can seamlessly import their dietary data. This integration would allow for a holistic view of dietary habits without requiring manual entry, making it easier for users to track potential triggers.
- Symptom Tracking: Expand Bevel’s symptom-tracking capabilities with a broader range of options, specifically tailored to digestive and energy-related symptoms. This would enable users to record any discomfort, helping to capture the nuanced impacts of food intolerances.
- Automatic, Intelligent Data Analysis: Using Bevel’s powerful data analytics engine, similar to the current features for recovery and sleep, users could receive personalized insights into which foods may be causing symptoms. The feature would track correlations between specific foods and reported symptoms, highlighting possible intolerances or sensitivities over time.

Meal times in relation to sleep

I think logging the times we eat—not necessarily what we're eating, but when—could be interesting to see how it lines up with sleep and recovery scored. Maybe I’ll notice if eating late messes with my sleep, having an early lunch affects energy scores etc. I think tracking this could make it easier to spot any patterns and get a clearer picture of how meal timing affects things.
I know that a feature request for nutrition tracking is already posthed here: https://feedback.bevel.health/feature-requests/p/nutrition-logging but I believe these two to be a different.

Nutrition Data in Energy Levels

The feature of energy is a very cool concept, but perhaps adding nutrition stats to the way that the energy level is calculated as just another factor?? Example, when I eat something nutritious naturally my energy goes up.

Nutrition Dashboard

I know we already have the app pull in nutrition data when comparing against weight trends or other items, but would it be possible to have a nutrition showing the key macros and maybe even micro data from apple health? It would be cool if these could also feed into some of the journal insights automatically too

This might be a little further down the road but incorporating food journaling connected to a database and syncing with apple health would make Bevel all in one health app. It would also allow it to analyze your food and give suggestions on sleep for example.

Thanks for the suggestion T S. We have plans on adding something like this in the future.

Is that needed? Cant we just integrate the nutrition data from apple health which is obtained from lifesum / myfitnesspal?
Grey
A: Apple Health's nutrition is quite limited. For example, you can't see the exact type of food that you ate or drill down further into the ingredients.
