Nutrition Score Update from Imported Data
planned (tbd)
John Ihne Jr.
Love the app. However, when macros and information come from Apple health (in my case source is myfitnesspall >>>> apple health >>>> bevel) macros come over but nutrition score is not impacted. Due to lack of food database like mfp and flexibility of MFP and other similar apps this is a huge opportunity to derive a score from these synced data sources. I understand some information might be missing - but if macros come over that should be enough to drive a type of basic score.

It would be nice that when you register foods in another app, they can be linked or that you can easily add these foods by importing photos.

Import Food Names from Apple health Into Nutrition

I use MyNetDiary for food tracking because it writes detailed data to Apple Health, including food names, calories, macros, micronutrients, and timestamps. I would love for Bevel to pull in the food names from Apple Health, not just the macro and micro totals, and apply Bevel’s native nutrition scoring and action insights to those meals, even if they were logged outside the app. From my experience, MyNetDiary is one of the only trackers compared to MyFitnessPal and Cronometer that writes the actual food name into Apple Health alongside full nutrient data. Supporting this would allow users to keep their preferred food tracker while still benefiting from Bevel’s nutrition analysis without needing to duplicate entries.

Bevel already imports macros from Apple Health (via MacroFactor, MyFitnessPal, etc.), but doesn't calculate a nutrition score from this data. Since I'm already tracking food quality in MacroFactor, requiring duplicate logging in Bevel defeats the purpose of integration. Reading micronutrient data from Apple Health would enable the full nutrition score without redundant entry.

Nutrition-import nutrition from Apple Health

It would be nice for the app to pull nutrition, not just macros, from apple heath. The food logging is weak and other apps to log food are much more advanced and easier.
Then provide a nutrition score based on what you can bring in.

It would be great if the food I log in my food tracker app could be pulled into Bevel from Apple Health. Bevel writes to Health but cannot read from Health.

Food transfers from MyFitnessPal

Nutrition information transfers with the MFP integration, but the actual foods do not so Bevel doesn't give a nutrition score. Would be nice to see it transfer over instead of inputting in both platforms

Update nutrition scores of directly imported foods

Hey, I have another feature request. I use HelloFresh and it has an option to directly import foods into Apple Health. Bevel then reads the data from Apple Health and updates my macros in the app. It would be amazing if it could read the micronutrient data as well (which is available in HelloFresh) and also calculate my nutrition score of the automatically added foods.

Nutrition Scores even for those logged in another app

A lot of people already have existing subscriptions to calorie tracker apps which all sync to a data repository (like Apple Health). It would be nice if nutrition scores are still calculated for items logged from other apps.

I want you to be able to bring meal data from other meal apps and Apple's Health app to this app.
