Automatic rep and strength training logger
planned (tbd)

I truly love and am a Superset devotee, but the new manual rep logger feature for strength training is like last century?
Honestly, didn't want to advertise to anyone, but have you considered automatic exercise and rep detection like atlon.app or trainfitness.ai does? Automatic recognition in the gym really works, I've tested it, very handy.

Automatic Exercise & Rep Detection via Apple Watch Motion Data

Hi Bevel Team,
I'm a big fan of the Bevel app and the power it brings to the Apple Watch experience. One feature that would truly make the app a "gold standard" for strength training would be the implementation of automatic exercise and rep detection using the motion sensors on the Apple Watch.
Currently, we have to manually count and log reps/weight for each set, which can break the flow of the workout. Integrating a smart detection feature, similar to what's seen in other dedicated gym apps, would allow the watch to:
- Count reps in real-time for specific exercises (e.g., bicep curls, squats, bench presses).
- Provide a short haptic vibration when a target rep count is reached.
- Automatically advance to the rest timer and the next exercise in the synced template once a set is completed.
- Replace the old manual tracking method, providing a seamless and highly motivating user experience.
This would drastically improve the user experience during strength workouts, making tracking less intrusive and more accurate. It aligns perfectly with the goal of leveraging the Apple Watch's capabilities to provide a comprehensive fitness experience.
I understand that this feature is likely on your roadmap, but I wanted to formally add my support and highlight how much value it would bring to the community.
Thanks for the great work you're doing!

Do like TRAIN. Automatically detect each exercise performed with AI and then generate new workouts based on what you usually do

Makes it so much easier because I keep forgetting to press play or stop when I start/stop a set in the gym. Like the app “Train”

Autodetect exercises

Hi, any chance you’ll add auto-detect lifting exercises, similar to the Train app? I just tried Train for the first time and really like how it automatically detects exercises like bicep curls, rows, etc.

Really hope this will get picked up because I tried this feature on the other app, and it's very useful.

Form of exercise tracking in real time - done excellently by app called Gymatic… tracks range, form, and tempo per rep… counts rep… automatically recognising the exercise and tracking it… can train movements… logs calorie burn through heart rate to apple health

Use the accelerometer to detect reps for different exercises. A short haptic vibration after each rep and a longer buzz when the set is complete. It should have the option to auto start and stop each set and also give you an auto rest break.

Smart gym exercise detection via apple watch

A feature like in the app „Train Fitness“ which recognizes every exercise based on the motion data of your apple watch. It gets the right number of sets and exercises.. Very useful. It replaces the old manual tracking..
