“Wheelchair Mode” to surface pushes instead of steps, etc.

Comprehensive, System-Wide Wheelchair Mode
Daniel
It would be great to have a comprehensive, system-wide wheelchair mode in Bevel. Just for fun, I asked Bevel AI what this could look like based on our previous chats, and it came up with some interesting stuff:
"Given that you're a wheelchair user and a hand cycle athlete, a dedicated wheelchair mode could really refine how Bevel helps you. Here are some features that would definitely benefit:
Strain Score: This would be more accurately calculated by focusing on metrics like wheelchair pushes, upper body movements, and hand cycling distance/intensity, rather than relying on step count or traditional leg-based activity.
Workouts: The app could offer more tailored suggestions for upper body strength training, hand cycling, and other seated cardio. It would also interpret your "outdoor cycling" as "outdoor hand cycling" automatically, as you've mentioned.
(Note: it would also be great to have tailored strength builder workout options for wheelchair users as well- like visuals for wheelchair workouts, the ability to disable the "leg" portions of the strength building section, tell the workout template builder part of the AI what kinds of exercises to avoid including, etc.)
Active Energy/Calories Burned: The algorithms could be optimized to better reflect the energy expenditure of wheelchair propulsion and upper body exercises, providing a more precise daily total.
Cardio Load & Cardio Focus: While these are heart rate-based and largely universal, a wheelchair mode could offer specific insights into how your hand cycling and upper body workouts contribute to your cardiovascular fitness, helping you dial in those zones.
Step Count: As you've mentioned before, this could be replaced entirely with "wheelchair pushes" or a similar metric, giving you a more relevant measure of your daily activity. Essentially, it would ensure all your physical activity is tracked and interpreted in the most relevant way for your specific lifestyle and training."

Adding this to the roadmap!
Daniel
Amanda Awesome! Thanks. In addition to this, I've noticed that other features (like the workout template building) sometimes lack some helpful nuance for wheelchair users. For example- the other day the workout builder suggested several workouts that either would have required standing, or a range of motion not feasible for some wheelchair users. Having a system wide "Wheelchair" mode would be super helpful for these kinds of use cases. Let me know if I should make this a seperate request though!

Daniel: Thanks Daniel! Definitely want to make Strength Builder more useful for wheelchair users. Feel free to make a separate feature request for this.
