Backup journal to iCloud

What
I also have the same issue. I reinstalled the app and now all entries from the journal are gone. Also all entries from the strength builder are gone.
Sync is already done.
Randell
What: Hi, for the Strength Builder, are you saying that all your Workout plans are gone? or is it just not appearing on your Apple Watch?
W
What
Randell all are gone
Randell
What: Gotcha, can you please confirm if you have enough storage on your iCloud?
The iCloud entries/tags and Strength Builder workout plans should sync eventually, please give it some time.
W
What
RandellIt's been 90 minutes now. So far neither journal entries or workout plan is back.
I can confirm that my iCloud is still free (264.3 GB of 2.2 TB used)
Grey
What: I'm jumping in here for Randell. First I want to confirm if you are also the same user that posted on Reddit here so that I have context: https://www.reddit.com/r/bevelhealth/comments/1gm3h2l/bevel_not_synced_to_screen_time_icloud/
If so, before you reinstalled the app, was your phone connected to iCloud?
W
What
Grey Hey Grey, thanks for jumping in. Yes, same user.
And yes, my Phone was connected to the cloud.
Maybe there is a technical reason why I witness both things: 1. My data is not syncing from the cloud after re-install and 2. Bevel is the only app which is not visible in the Cloud Screen Time settings.
In any case, it seems that my Bevel App seems to have some trouble with the apple cloud connection.
W
What
Grey Hey, just as an FYI since it’s been a couple of days:
Nothing synced backed.
Can you please help me get the data from months and months of journaling back?
I specifically asked if there is any risk because the journal data is worth a lot to me and I was told it would not be lost.
W
What
Grey Simmo hey grey and simmo, any updates? I’m still missing the logs. Can I access them manually in iCloud so I can manually type them in again?
Grey
What: Hi, sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, it seems like it was an iCloud bug that caused the app to lose its Journal data.
This is an edge case with iCloud and something outside our control. We're considering other solutions to not store data on iCloud anymore so this would not happen again the future.
Can you email us at hello@bevel.health? I will make this right for you. Again, so sorry about that.
Randell
Hi Simmo, I'd like to follow up on this. Are you still having this issue? Can you try reinstalling the app for me and see if it fixes the Journal sync on your Phone?
Simmo
Randell No luck. Reinstalled last night. It fairly quickly restored back to the 27 Sept which was the date of switching to new phone but all previous journal entries are MIA

I am having a similar issue. I logged out of iCloud on my device, when logging back in, majority of my manual journal entries (X’s and checks) did not load, losing my Insights I’ve been gathering for months. iCloud backup is on and my iCloud shows Bevel as allowed (2MB of data used).
Randell
TJ: Hi for this issue, please ensure that your Baseline and iCloud are synced. You can check it by going to Bevel Watch App -> Tap the Gear Icon -> Baseline/iCloud should be synced to the latest. The same goes for your Bevel Phone app, you can go to Bevel -> Profile -> iCloud and see that it is synced to the latest.
Once all of these are confirmed, please give it some time to sync, it should eventually show up again in your Journal.

Randell Connected and Updated for over a week now. Still missing the data.
Randell
TJ: Hi TJ, are you still experiencing this issue, or has it synced already? If not, could you try reinstalling the app and check if it syncs after that?
It might not sync right away but please do keep an eye on it.

TJ
Randell Yeah I did this with Grey. Still unresolved. I assumed I just lost the data at this point and expect to lose it again whenever I upgrade my phone next.

Hi Simmo, The data should be saved to your iCloud. Please give it some time to sync.
Also, have you checked if your iCloud is synced already? You can check this by going to Bevel -> Profile -> iCloud.
You can pull to refresh on your Bevel Journal Tab view as well and see if it syncs in your previous Journal data.
Simmo
Randell - it says it is currently synced and pulling down & refreshing doesn't change anything. I only have journal for yesterday. The workout plans have all been restored ok. My health data is apparently still downloading 21 hours later so not sure if that will impact it - looks like all of the recent health data is there but I've had an Apple Watch since the original release so there's a lot of health data in my account.
Randell
Simmo I see, thanks for the update. Please keep me posted on this!
It should sync eventually. Also, do you mind sending a screenshot of what you see?
Randell
Hi Simmo, I'd like to follow up on this. Did it sync now?
Simmo
Randell No, it’s only got journal entries for the new phone. All health data and everything else on the phone is fully synced now
Randell
Simmo: Hi, thanks for the update! Please give it some more time. I’ll keep this ticket open so we can monitor it. It should sync on its own eventually.
Randell
