Hi Ty, Can you try to force close the app and see if this will fix it for you?
Also, Can you please send a screenshot of the food information that you have logged to the app today.
Ty
Randell the force close didn’t work. Here’s a screenshot of what I’ve logged so far. Side question also. Is the deficit calculated by the number of calories that I have historically burned? Or is it pulling the numbers from deficits I have set up in other trackers (like Lifesum)?
Randell
Ty: Can you please go check the following for me:
Apple Health -> Carbs/Protein, see if they have log for today? Send a screenshot.
Also, go to Bevel -> Profile -> Data Sources -> Nutrition, screenshot the view for me.
Ty
Randell : No data today from those categories. I also went in and turned off and turned on read/write for bevel in health just now with no luck
Randell
Ty: Ah, I see. Please go to Bevel ->Nutrition -> tap on the 3 dot icon on the upper right corner -> Nutrition Settings -> Scroll down and enable "Write to Apple Health".
Once done, can you try to log your food again and see if this will reflect for both Carbs and Protein.
Ty
Randell: that was toggled for me already unfortunately :( I did go in and turned it off and on, forced closed the app and came back with no luck
Randell
Ty Can you please try to log out and log in on your Bevel app? Go to Profile -> Account -> Log out, then log in again.
After that, please try to test log a new food and see if this will fix it
Ty
Randell: no luck unfortunately
Randell
Ty: Can you please send the screenshots of the following:
- Bevel -> Nutrition Settings -> write to Apple Health view
- The detailed breakdown of the Food you just logged. I'd like to check the value for Carbs and Protein.
Also, Go to Apple Health -> Sharing -> Apps -> Bevel -> re-toggle all permissions.
Lastly, try to reinstall the app.
Ty
Randell no luck on all of these steps
Randell
Ty Hm, Is it possible for you to restart your phone and see if this will help?
Ty
Randell tried it with no luck. To add some additional information, it did work yesterday evening. I used the descriptive text option and it worked. I tried that again just now with no luck though
Randell
Ty Can you actually check if you are on current day view of the app? Go to Bevel home view -> Tap on the date above.
Also, please go to Apple Health -> Nutrition, check if you actually got data written from Bevel for today coming from Bevel?
Ty
Randell yes sir everything is set to today. Some data was written
Randell
Ty, Can you please send a screenshot of your permissions in Apple Health for me? Go to Apple Health -> Sharing -> Apps -> Bevel, and see if everything is toggled on just like in my screenshot
Ty
Randell everything is on
Randell
Ty: And in your Data Sources in Bevel for Nutrition (Bevel -> Profile -> Data Sources -> Nutrition), does the timestamp shows 2/6/25 for your iPhone data source?
Ty
Randell It has yesterdays date. How do I update?
Randell
Ty: It should update automatically without you doing anything, as long as you have the correct setup which I think you do have.
Can you try logging a food again right now, then once you've logged go to Apple Health -> Carbs/Protein -> Scroll down to "Show all data", tap it and screenshot the view for me?
I have attached a screenshot of how it should look like.
Ty
Randell Done! Still no update
Randell
Ty on Apple Health -> Carbs/Protein -> Scroll down to “Data Sources & Access” does it show the same as my screenshot?
Ty
Randell this is the message that pops up. Do I need to delete other apps?
Randell
Ty Can you tap on Bevel that says “Inactive” then share a screenshot here
Ty
I fixed it. If I tap edit I can toggle multiple sources
Randell
Ty Inactive there means that your permissions to write in Apple Health as Bevel is turned Off. Can you please double check again in Apple Health -> Sharing -> Apps -> Bevel, retrigger the Turn On all to see if this will fix it?
Randell
Ty Okay, can you try to log food again in Bevel and see if it is working now?
Ty
Actually spoke too soon. I was able to turn them on but no in app updates yet
Randell
Ty Also reorder the sources on that view again and put Bevel as 1st among other apps in there.
Ty
Randell so I tried logging food and it didn’t work. I checked data source and access and it went inactive again. I’ve tried re ordering it and taking access away form those other apps, but every time I exit the data source screen bevel goes inactive again
Ty
I checked the permissions list again and carbohydrates and proteins is not one of the things that bevel is asking to write. It’s asking to read only
Randell
Ty Can you please send developer logs? You can do this by going to Bevel -> Profile -> Scroll down to the bottom -> “Send developer logs”.
Also, please confirm here the icloud/email you have used to register on Bevel.
And lastly, can you confirm that this was working well for you yesterday?
Randell
Ty: Hi Ty, I'd like to follow up on this again. Are you able to send the developer logs? I added the instructions on my previous response on how to
Also, just to make sure, can you go to Bevel -> Nutrition -> 3 dot Icon on the upper right corner -> Nutrition Settings -> Scroll down to Apple Health view, screenshot the view for me. I'd like to confirm that these are all toggled On.
Ty
Randell: Hi, I apologize for the delayed response. So I can send the developer logs, but used the create with apple function so I’m not 100% sure of the email used. Maybe tmoney2800@gmail.com? Also I can confirm the feature was working the day before my initial inquiry. I tried it again today with no luck. I will also post the screen shot as requested
Randell
Ty: Hi Ty, Are you saying that the Nutrition feature is still not working for you? Can you please check on your permissions if you have the Carbs/Protein/Fats to toggle or is it still missing for you?
Also, please try to update your app to the latest version 2.0.1
Ty
Randell Hi Randell, yes, I can confirm that is still not working after updating the application. I checked the permissions tab and Bevel is still not requesting to write to protein or carbs. The toggle is missing
