Hi Andy MacDonald, Apologies for this experience. We are currently working on improving the Nutrition database. Do you mind sending a screenshot or pic of the barcode that you just scanned?
A
Andy MacDonald
Randell so the barcode scanned ok but the macro for protein etc did not update I will do it for you and add in my next reply

Andy MacDonald
Randell so here are the pictures. Pictures one is before I scanned it so you can see the breakdown the second pic is after and have included the showing of the food log the final picture is of the item and it’s barcode for you
Randell
Andy MacDonald: I see. Thanks for the screenshot.
Just to confirm, is this issue only happening with this specific barcode item? If you log the food manually, do the macros show up correctly?
Also, can you check if "Write to Apple Health" for macros is turned on? You can find this under Bevel -> Nutrition -> Tap the three-dot icon (upper right) -> Nutrition Settings.
I tested it on my end by manually entering the barcode, and the macros reflected.

Randell very strange so I added manually chicken breast which weighed 140g and as you can see the protein dot thing has not shifted or changed and yes the nutrition are all set to enabled as per the picture!
Randell
Andy MacDonald: Can you go to Bevel -> Profile -> Data Sources -> Nutrition, screenshot the view for me?

Andy MacDonald: I see. it seems like it did show, lets verify the data in Apple Health.
Can we go to Apple Health -> Macros (Protein/Fat/Carb) -> Scroll down on each of their page view -> tap "Show all data" -> check and see if Bevel has written the logs there for your recent food log? You can determine this by checking the time it was logged.
try to log a new food, this time, check the time stamp and date. Then screenshot the view in Apple Health macros raw data for me (instructions above).

Randell so the first pic shows apple health with no bevel data as I removed the food that I had added and add it via another app Calorie Counter. The second one shows the bevel entry but the protein dot thing has not changed from 73 to 93 which is what I’m not sure why it isn’t as the yogurt I added is 20g of protein the last picture is not showing the increase in protein so we know the data is being written to Apple health and I checked the carbs as well as fat and bevel is writing data to Apple health it just is not updating the Infograph in the app when stuff is added
Randell
Andy MacDonald: Hm I see. Yep, thanks for confirming these.
Can you go to Bevel -> Profile -> Scroll down to "Clear cache & reload data". Let's see if this will fix the data for Nutrition as well.
A
Andy MacDonald
Randellhiya have tried to clear cache and reload bit it hasn’t altered the Infograph bit to 93g of protein etc
Randell
Andy MacDonald: Gotcha, can you please go to Bevel -> Profile -> Scroll down to the bottom, and tap "send logs to developer". After that, please let me know which Apple ID/Email you have used to log in to Bevel. You can email it to me at hello@bevel.health if you are not comfortable sharing it here.

Randell Good afternoon / morning have logged food this morning solely in Be el and it appears to be playing nicely this morning screenshots attached I have noticed in feature requests that others have trusted the ability to track food by meal type etc breakfast / lunch / snacks etc so I won’t add this as feature trusts as it there from others . I will
Probably revert to tracking food in Nutrition Calorie counter App as I have my daily calorie target added in ther as I can’t see a similar feature in Bebel as yet unless I have missed it ???
Randell
Andy MacDonald: Thanks for confirming this. Have you tried logging via another app again and see if the issue from yesterday persists? I'd like to see if this issue is something we can reproduce by doing the things you've done yesterday.
also for Calorie and Macro goals, those will be coming up soon!

Randell right ok so have added tonight’s evening tea using the Calorie Counter app by Nutracheck and it has overwritten what was in Bevel prior to that it is showing as only 50g of protein which should be 150g if you include lunch and breakfast I have added the nutracheck picture of tea which shows 50g of
Protein, previous image I sent you earlier, plus a new image of Bevel showing just 50g of protein rather than 151g of protein with the app. Values combined
Randell
Andy MacDonald: Gotcha, Thanks for the info.
Just to be clear the data gets messed up whenever you add a food log on your 3rd party app that syncs to Apple Health and Bevel reads this data -> updates the macros in Nutrition but after that it doesn't recognize the macros/food that you logged in Bevel, is that correct?
A
Andy MacDonald
Randell yes that’s is correct even though the food I logged is still listed what is written by the third party app overwrites everything that had been added previously by me using the Bevel app. Not sure if to require any beta testers but would be happy to help out for pre release versions
