I was looking at Superset, the Health app and Athlytic this morning. Both the health app and Athlytic had my resting heart rate the same. Superset has it almost 10 points higher. Do you know when you are taking the reading of resting heart rate to report? I know Garmin take the reading in the last few minutes of sleep, which makes the heart rate seem lower than it really is. I don't like Apple's average of the day either. If you have a tough workout (long run), it will use the higher readings later in the day. I think the lowest in the first hour of waking up seems to be the best (just my thought). Thanks for an amazing app, it looks amazing

Just a follow up, the RHR is still well above where it should be. Apple and Athlyta tell me 59, Superset is at 73.5.

Brian: Hmm that is weird. I am not doing anything special to calculate your RHR. It is simply your HR during sleep. Do you wear your Apple Watch to sleep?
Do you mind sending screenshots of your raw HR data from your Apple Health to my email grey@supersethealth.com?

Grey: what is the best way to get the raw data. I can see some information, but not sure where exactly to find the raw data. Thanks. Also, I wear my Apple Watch all the time except for showering and charging.

Hi Brian, thanks for the comment and question! At the moment, Superset is calculating resting heart rate from your sleep. It takes the average of all your measurements during sleep and displays it in the app. Superset does not write RHR to Apple Health.
Like you said, I found that RHR from Apple Health is unreliable. I didn’t want to artificially restrict RHR to a specific part of your sleep as that’s not reflective of your whole night (i.e., sometimes you might have lower RHR at the end of the night, or you have less deep/REM sleep that night)

Grey: If I am being honest, I was getting very high readings because of the holiday and I am pretty sure it had something to do with the alcohol consumed. I know it impact RHR, but it did seem pretty drastic.
Grey
Brian: Got it. I can look more into it if you think its still too high.
You can go to Apple Health -> Heart rate -> Show all data -> Find the date that you think is too high -> scroll all the way to the bottom so it shows your sleep session and screenshot that and share it with me that'd be great. Thanks!
