Naps Late in the Day Not Counted in Following Sleep Cycle

Description:
I’ve noticed that naps taken towards the end of the day are not being included in the following sleep cycle in the app. Currently, the app seems to count naps towards the previous night's sleep, regardless of the time they occur.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Take a nap late in the day, e.g., after 6 PM.
- Check the sleep data for the following night in the Health app.
Expected Behavior:
Naps taken after a certain time (for example, 6 PM) should be counted towards the sleep data for the following night, not the previous night.
Actual Behavior:
Naps taken late in the day are counted as part of the previous night's sleep.
Additional Information:
If this behavior is intentional, it would be helpful to understand the reasoning behind it. However, if this is a bug, it would improve accuracy if naps taken after a specific time, such as 6 PM, were counted towards the following night's sleep data.

Hi Tobias Gürtler, thanks for the feedback. When you refer to " counted towards the following night's sleep data", are you talking about the sleep need?
In other words, if I nap during the day today, my sleep need for tonight should be lower?
That's the only concept that matters when figuring out which day to count the nap towards. Naps do not affect sleep score or any other metrics at the moment, but I wanted to confirm that's what you meant.

Hi Grey
Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Naps should be counted towards the following night's sleep and ideally affect both the sleep score and sleep need.
I understand it might be challenging to calculate the score as currently, only heart rate data is available for manually entered sleep in the Apple Health app. However, with the upcoming changes in watchOS 11 that will automatically detect naps, there might be more data available to address this.
Best regards,

Didn’t notice that behavior again. Unfortunately not much naps lately either 😭
I guess you can close this ticket for now, thx
