Hello, I’m still having this problem. Also don’t know if this is unrelated but my cycling strain shows as 0%.
I’m currently paying for a subscription and two of the three main features are not working.
Grey
Justus Woell: Hi Justus, apologies for all the issues you're experiencing. I'm having a hard time reproducing your RHR missing issue, which is why it's causing me to believe that it's related to recovering your phone.
I know you said you already reinstalled the app, but can you try one more time if anything changes at all. I'm wondering if it resets the permissions now that it has more data syncing in from iCloud.
As for this cycling issue, what did you record the exercise with? Can you try clearing cache?
J
Justus Woell
Grey I recorded it with my Apple Watch. I just deleted and reinstalled the app with no change, and clearing the cache also did not work—the workout strain still shows as 0%
Grey
Justus Woell: Got it. Can you screenshot the following for me?
Bevel Settings > Data Sources > Heart Rate
J
Justus Woell
Grey Ah, all fixed now! The newest heart rate source (from today) was hidden. Now everything is working. Thank you for your help! Was this related to recovering my iPhone do you think, and in the future are there any steps I can take to prevent this in the future? When we checked my data sources earlier, and even after reinstalling the first time, this wasn’t showing.
Grey
Justus Woell: Great! I'm glad that it solved the problem. It's not related to recovering your phone. The only way to hide it is to manually hide it. My guess is that you might have hidden it at some point and forgot.
We checked RHR before but not Heart Rate specifically. The Bevel RHR method uses Heart Rate data rather than RHR data from Apple Health.
Unfortunately, reinstalling the app doesn't fix it because the settings are saved to your iCloud. I'll think of a better way to communicate this to other users in the future. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your help with debugging. I'm glad that it wasn't a bug on our end :)

Justus Woell
Grey no problem, and thank you very much for your help.
Grey
Thank you for the screenshots. That is a strange issue that we've not seen before.
Did you mention that you recently switched phones from iOS beta to stable 17.5?
Can you give me some more context on what you did with your devices?
J
Justus Woell
Grey I updated to 18 beta 2, then after about a week, reverted back to 17.5.1 by recovering from backup.
Grey
Justus Woell: That's weird. It might be an issue with data syncing because you recovered your phone. You're saying that you saw this data before you recovered your phone right?
Can you share screenshot of your sleep stages chart?
J
Justus Woell
Grey yes, I was able to see it while in the beta.
Drew Boggess
I’m having this same issue.
Randell
Drew Boggess: Hi Drew, are you still having this issue? Did your Bevel app able to pull in RHR data later in the day?

Hi Justus Woell, Thanks for the screenshot and info. Let me try and help you with this.
Can you please send a screenshot of what your Calculations look like? Go to Bevel -> Profile -> Customization -> Calculations. Screenshot this view for me.
And please send a screenshot of your RHR data in Apple Health as well.

Randell
Justus Woell: Thanks for the screenshot.
Your Calculation settings are in default which is correct.
Are you using any other apps/devices to track your sleep? Or just Apple Watch?
Can you please send a screenshot again for your Data Sources? You can go to Bevel -> Profile -> Data Sources (Screenshot this view for me) -> then tap on Resting Heart Rate and screenshot this view.
Also, are you currently in IOS 18 beta? How long have you been using Bevel and your Apple Watch to sleep now?
J
Justus Woell
Randell I’ve been using Apple Watch to sleep for about two months and bevel for a month and a half, and only Apple Watch. Running 17.5.1 right now.
(No changes if the other RHR is hidden/unhidden).
Have so many sources because I was running beta 1&2 for a while, and was using a different phone. This problem showed up a couple days ago and hadn’t had it before.
Randell
Justus Woell: Hi, did your RHR data pulled in through Bevel today? If not, can you try to reset your permissions by turning it off and on again?
Also, can you please send a screenshot of your Recovery Trends? Go to Bevel -> Recovery -> Scroll down to Trends and screenshot the view for me.
J
Justus Woell
Randell
No, nothing has changed, and resetting permissions did nothing.
Grey
Hi Justus Woell, I'm jumping in here for Randell.
Can you go to Apple Health > Heart Rate > Show all data > Tap on the current day > Scroll down and screenshot the times around when you slept?
It should look something like this:

Sure, here’s a chunk in the morning before I woke up.

Also, I did want to mention: my recovery score is showing on my watch now, as is RHR, but I’m assuming the recovery score is incorrect: it reads 100%. My sleep score is also different. It shows up correctly as it loads, but when the watch app finishes loading, the scores change.
