Strength trainer just stopped and vanished

Everything was working fine and I finished my last set. So I started doing some stretching and the timer was still going and it said tap to finish workout. About 30 seconds in my watch just goes to the time like I had pressed the crown and the workout was gone. Went back in to superset and it’s as if I never did the workout. The Apple Watch did record the traditional strength training but superset never let me finish out the workout. Might have crashed on me 🤷🏻♂️

Sorry to resurrect this old issue, but a similar crash happened again to me during my last workout.
It crashed twice during the workout, resulting in a total of 3 workout sessions logged. First screenshot below shows these three logged workouts.
- I started the workout on my watch and began doing warmup.
- I went to begin my first exercise, so I look to my watch to click the ⏵ button, but Superset was not running. I tapped to open it from the apps screen and it launched fresh, with no workout running. A workout session of zero duration was created (second screenshot).
- I start a workout for the second time.
- After logging a few sets, I switched from Superset to the Pocket Casts app to change podcasts. When I switched back to Superset it launched fresh with no workout running. The workout session logged appears to have clean data (third screenshot; Total volume: 0 lbsis because I had only logged pull ups with no weight value set).
- I start a workout for the third time. This one ran until I completed my workout with no further issues (no screenshot).
I checked for a crash log at
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
but there were none on this day. Grey, Unless you know why it's crashing, I think the only actionable task here is to avoid creating a workout that is empty.

Grey, the watch app closed unexpectedly during a workout again today. I'm using build 739. There was a fix in build 737 (“Squashed bugs that occasionally crash the app in the background”), but it doesn't seem to have helped here.
I was running the workout, logging my reps. After about 15 minutes, I went to the clock app on my watch and tapped the complication to launch the Paku app to check the air quality. A few seconds later I went back to Superset and it opened to the default screen with the three dials; a workout was no longer running. I had to start a new workout to continue. 🫤
Anything else I can do to help troubleshoot?

Merged in a post:
Apple Watch workout unexpectedly ended (crash?)
Quinn Comendant
I was tracking a workout on my AW, when inexplicably the Superset was no longer running. I think I navigated to Pocket Casts app to change podcast, then noticed Superset was no longer tracking the workout. I opened Superset and it seemed to be a cold start. No workout was running, so I started it again. It tracked the second half of my workout successfully, and I was able to end the workout to finish.
The first half of the workout was logged, but the interesting thing is that it is missing some data when viewed in the Activities → Activity History → Detail screen. This is not surprising, since I presume some of these calculations are only made when safely ending a workout.
Here are screenshots of the two workouts that were logged. The one that crashed was the one that started at “4:18 PM”.
(N.b.: I synced my iPhone to my mac and searched for a crash log in
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
but there was no log with a timestamp for today, so I guess it didn't create one. However, there were several others from other days; I didn't notice the SS AW app misbehaving before, but maybe these logs are useful for you to review just in case there were some crashes that I didn't notice. Here is a zip file of all these crash logs.)Quinn Comendant

Quinn Comendant: Thanks Quinn! I'm still tracking this issue down. I'll merge it with the other ticket

Hi Quinn Comendant, thanks for reporting this bug. What Apple Watch did you use to track?

Hi David, thanks for the bug report and sorry about that.
Did the workout eventually show up for you in the activity list? Or was it completely lost? Also, were you able to reproduce this bug?
D
David
Grey it’s completely lost. It had gone through 12 sets successfully then after it completed the workout and was just on the timer with the end button I think it just crashed out and Apple took that as ending the workout and recorded a standard traditional strength training. I’ll do another workout tomorrow and see if it crashes or ends on me again
Grey
David: Got it, and so sorry about that again. Did the workout show up as a regular strength training workout for you on Superset? Or does that also not show up?
D
David
Grey it’s all good, happy to test it out.
Regular strength training on superset
Also I do stretching before and after sets, any chance at adding “Stretching” as an option to put in my workouts
Grey
David: Are you looking to track the time of stretching or add particular stretches to the routine?
D
David
Grey just time stretching. I think a simple stretching option that just keeps track of how long your stretching. No need to add a bunch of different stretches to the list
Grey
David: Got it. Any luck with the Strength Builder working as expected for you today?
D
David
Grey I tested a couple times now and wasn't able to make this happen again so maybe it was just a fluke thing with my particular watch.
Grey
David: Got it. Thanks for reporting. I am getting another report of a similar issue so will track it down.
Besides that, does Strength Builder generally work well for you?
D
David
Grey it works incredibly well. Night day over whoop that’s for sure. Excited to see where this goes, fantastic work so far. UI is slick and makes sense so top notch
Grey
David: Thanks David! I'll close this out for now but let me know if you run into it again.
