This should be limited to exercises within the same workout, only, since it is plausible that a user could want a different increment scheme within different workouts.

Perhaps also consider setting a new target as new maximum is reached? For example, if my current target is 7x10lbs and I do 8 reps, my new target should be 8x10lbs. If I increase weight, that should be my new target. So in this example, if I then do 6x15lbs, that should become the new target.

Hoping this would be an optional toggle rather than a default! Personally, I don’t increase my weights as frequently
